Hans Sr. in general does not agree with Nazi ideals. As Nazism is run on hate, Hans is not a hateful person, however Hans only conforms to this society as to not become a target. Hans' chance for joining the Nazi party disappeared with age and the painting. Jewish slurs were written all over shop...more

I agree that Hans does not really seem to want to join the Nazi party. He sends in an application...more
He hadn't got accepted, and he was old. Hans only supports the Nazi party to the extent that such support helps keep his family safe. He argues against the Nazis with his son who is a devoted Hitler supporter. He buys Mein Kampf when it seems politically correct to do so. He offers a Jewish man a...more

Hans was old and wasn't accepted that's what held him back. I don't think that Hans wants to be in the nazi party anyway because he still has different feelings towards nazis and if you cant fully be on board then you shouldn't be doing something you don't like. But then again he could just want ...more
The event was that he did not follow the guidelines and I think he is in the middle of deciding should I choose the safe decision by being a follower and protecting my family or decide to do the right thing and do what he believes in.

Hans has held back on joining the nazi party because he doesnt agree that jews are bad he showed this by givin a jewish man marching through the town some bread and took the jewish mans punished. I don't beleive Hans wantes to be a Nazi unless it will keep his family safe.

Hans was disliked by the Nazi party because he has done things that don't follow their guidelines. I don't think he want's to join because even when he was allowed to join the Nazi party he seemed to have no interest.

The event that held Hans back from joining the party was that he was old and hadn't got accepted into the party. I think that Hans doesn't truly want to become a nazi because his views are slightly different. He argues against some of the nazi views.
