Iowa has abysmal outdoor recreational opportunities. Very small parks and obvious lack of any effort from state to improve them pretty much rules iowa out for anyone that enjoys outdoor activities. Whether people say it or not I think this is a big thing with a lot of people. Iowa has other things to offer that are good but those things are available pretty much everywhere else also.
