I also think mental and emotional needs influence diet. Some people may eat less during stress, while others crave comfort foods. A balanced diet should support not just physical, but emotional health too, which can be very individual.

The idea of a balanced diet has to be flexible and personalized. Someone training for a marathon would need a lot more energy and protein than someone with a sedentary lifestyle if I can give an example..
