I'm always thinking of good questions to ask for my interview video, so why not share your ideas and vote for the ideas you like?
You can also put questions that me or other YouTubers have already asked if you want to see more Japanese people answering.

Hi Yuta, I'm Kris. I enjoy watching your videos, I think they give a lot of insight into Japanese people and I have learned a lot of things I should and should not do because of some of your videos.
I especially enjoy videos where you interview/quiz people around Japan about various current events, or random language/culture topics. With the recent release of the Covid Vaccine, there is a lot of resistance in the US for receiving the vaccine in the US. I was curious how you or others you know feel about the vaccine, and also what you think about people 'not wanting to get it' here in the US.
There are several videos on CNN/MSNBC/etc where you can read comments about what people think.

Hi, Yuta, I have sent you a message via your Blog too, but apart from that email, I would like to see the following questions answered by Japanese. I don't know how to put these questions on this Tricider and thus, putting in this comments:
1. What do Japanese people think of Parental Child Abduction that is very comment on Japan?
2. Do you know that "tsuresari" is equal to "nachi = kidnapping"overseas?
3. Do you know that Japan is the only country among developed countries to not have "join-custody" system?
4. Are you aware that 150,000 a year children in Japan loses all contacts of the other parents and in the course of divorce and that "child abduction" is used, and that this is pure violation of the UN childrens rights which Japan abided?
5. Do you think fathers should be forced to pay child support even if they don't have access to their kids?
6. What do you think should happen to mothers or fathers who refuse to let their kids have relationships with their other parent?
7. Did you know that Japanese police require no proof or evidence when a woman claim DV?

Yuta, I just watched your video about Ghosn and wanted to applaud you for doing much better reporting than any of the Japanese mass media would do about it. Well done on that topic, and good job on many other enlightening videos you have done.
With the recent release of Scott McIntyre from detention for trying to check on the safety of his abducted kids, I was wondering if you were thinking of doing a video about his situation, and the topic of parent-child abduction in Japan. Japan's unbelievably cruel family law system is receiving a lot of worldwide attention. Japanese government has made excuses for years about why they can't change their system while literally millions of Japanese children don't have access to one of their parents. By the rest of the world, it's seen as a violation of their human rights. Japanese media barely covers this, and if they do, they don't delve into the details which reveal the cruelty of the system. I personally know many people in the Tokyo area, both Japanese and non-Japanese, who are affected by this and would be happy to be interviewed for a video about this topic. With your 750k subscribers, perhaps it will help educate the public about his problem, and could help bring about much needed change.
Thank you for your consideration, and please keep making great videos!

Could you please do a video about how Japanese people feel or think of the Mongolian invasions of Kublai Khan (I'm not asking about their opinions on Mongolian people, but about a specific historical event).

Hello,
Considering how important and iconic trains are in Japan, I would like to know what Japanese people think of American trains (both freight and passenger). As another idea, I would like to see how much Japanese know about their own railway system (history, technology, etc.).

Hi Yuta, I've searched in Youtube to see if anybody discusses about current Japanese Live Action Cinema but I saw that not many Youtubers cover it. It's usually Cinema related to Anime that's being covered. Maybe Japanese movies are not well distributed all around the world for people to see and enjoy but it's a shame that many people could miss out on their movies. Japanese Directors like Akira Kurosawa, Yasujirō Ozu, Takeshi Kitano etc... have produced amazing movies and are considered to be legends but current Japanese directors/cinema are not talked about much even though there are some good movies being released there. Do you have any opinion on that?

Hi Yuta,
I have a suggestion for video ideas: why don't you do videos focused on Japan's economy?
For example, I would like to see a video on what Japanese people think about the current state of Japan's economy. I'm fully aware that Japan is a rich country and its GDP is the third-largest in the world, but it is also true that the Japanese economy has been stagnated since the early 1990s. What's Japanese people's take on this? Why did this happen? Are they satisfied with the current situation? What do they think will happen in the future?
This can also be extended to other topics such as:
- Do Japanese people still prefer a stable job at a big cooperation compared to more flexible positions (e.g. startups)
- Why the labor productivity in Japan is low (Labor productivity of Japan ranks at the bottom in G7 countries)
- Opinions about the recent sales tax increase (8% to 10%)
- Opinions about the recent arrest of the CEO of PEZY Computing (a tech startup of supercomputers)
- Their impressions against startups and entrepreneurs
- Collapse of the lifetime-employment system
- Future of the national pension system
- There can be many other interesting topics!
All the best,
Gota

Hello Yuta. I would like to suggest this question for your interview videos: Who are your top 3 favorite male Japanese actors? What things do you like about them?
I think this would give us an idea of what kind of guy Japanese women find attractive, and what kind of guy that modern Japanese men find cool. By the way, I just discovered your YouTube channel; your videos are very intriguing and relevant.

Kon'nichiwa Yuta san,
SUBJECT: Junko Furuta murder case (1989) places condition in 2019
It’s a request…
My name is Tarun Verma. My home country is India, but I am doing job in Dubai from last 7 years.
From last 4-5 years, I am in love with Japan. Because of Japanese anime, its rich culture, food, hospitality, polite people, neat & clean environment and historical places like shrines, castles etc. I wish that I could visit Japan some day.
I keep on searching new facts about Japan from its present and past time on internet especially on YOUTUBE.
On YouTube, I mostly watch videos about Japan and watching your channel from last 1 year. I like your channel because it provides videos on different Japanese subjects.
I need your help on one incident which happened in late 1988. Maybe you are aware of it. Its Junko Furuta Murder Case (Adachi, Tokyo, Japan) also known as Concrete murder case.
Last month, I was looking for Tokyo 1990’s history and development of Japan. I found this case. I was shocked after reading this incident. As per my personal opinion, it is the world’s worst brutal murder case of a 17 years old girl.
I read this story and became very disappointed. Those boys didn’t have a little mercy for Furuta san, who was just going to her home on that evening. She spent 44 horrified days with those guys. After brutally torture and killing Furuta san, they put her dead body in drum and filled with concrete. They just got imprisonment but even death penalty is less for them.
I am still curious about this incident. It’s not going out from my mind. I tried to search for that house location, where she was killed. That park where her concrete body was found and most important thing, her actual grave.
I also tried to find how those guys are doing nowadays, but I couldn’t find anything.
I also heard rumors that the person who dies an abnormal death or by torturing, that person becomes spirit and stays at his/her death place or grave until he/she doesn’t get revenge or fulfill his/her desire.
I contacted many people who run blogs or make videos in Japan but they were not interested, but I can’t put myself back. So I am contacting you with hope that you can make video to tribute her.
I request you to make a video about
• What happened to that house where she was killed? Is it now haunted or normal? Because after that incident that house was sell to another family, there is no information on internet about that house.
• Place where her concrete body was found, which is transformed into a park.
• Her real grave place, where she is resting in peace.
Because there are still many people, who are looking for same things which I mentioned.
I will be waiting for a response from you.
Watashi wa anata ni kansha shimasu
Your sincerely,
Tarun Verma.

What do Japanese people perceive to be good English or any other foreign language? It's very common to have a couple of lines in anime that are in a foreign language and often in English, but it's almost always Japanglish or a variant of another foreign language. So do Japanese anime watchers perceive the English and other languages in anime to be good or do they realize that it sounds weird?

Can a normal Japanese easily read the old Japanese's writting?
It is a rumor existed in my nation:
Thank to Kanji still be practicing in the present-day, a normal Japanese ( don't study is the Classic Literature or Old Japanese Language) can easily read any of their ancestor's writting as easy as they read newspaper.
Example: A normal Japanese pupil/ student can read Tale of Genji, 万葉集, 平家物語,... everything - in the origin version - easily.
Is that real? How much a normal japanese can read these writting from 500-1000 years before? What is difficult for a normal Japanese when they have to read these writting?
Thank you.

Hi my guy, there's some interview request I'd like to make.
You see how the MeToo movement, allegedly started to denounce abuse done by succesful people (celebs, politicians, etc.) when in reality is just a witch hunt againts succesful men by 3rd wave feminists for the most part, has been ending careers for over a year or two no matter if the accusations were either false or legit.
Usually when someone is denounced by said movement, the companies which the individual works for immediately cut ties with without even the slightest benefit of the doubt.
Well, said movement was responsible for creating another "Gate" (previous one being "GamerGate") which are "ComicsGate" and "AnimeGate" respectively.
We're focusing on AnimeGate, obviously.
Where long time North American VA Vic Mignona was accused by sexual abuse by one of his fans, said accusations then proven illegitimate and it all turned out to be just a tantrum by one of his "fans" just for not wanting to sign her yaoi artwork of some characters he had dubbed. But the damage had already been done, and now Vic is unemployed and being constantly harassed by people of said movement.
If you're unaware of the topic, I'd highly suggest to do some research. You can find it by searching it under the hashtags "IStandWithVic" and "KickVic".
Would you kindly ask fellow otaku in Japan, both female and male, their thoughts on AnimeGate?
I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Hello Yuta,
Could you ask Japanese people what they think of the video and the song for the 80s classic, Japanese Boy, by Aneka (real name, Mary Sandeman): specifically whether or not they like the song and their thoughts on Japanese culture being depicted in such a manner - albeit quite a long time ago.
Thank you.

Hi Yuta! I have a Japanese male roommate. I am 26 at the moment and my plan is to try all I can to move to Japan in the future. I will probably be 30-31 (as youngest) when I will be able to move. Because of that, I dont plan in finding any partner until I actually move to Japan (dont wanna breakup because I will move away). My roommate told me that in Japan it gets much harder to find a husban/boyfriend after 30 because the society sees you as a leftover or that something is wrong with you. Here, or at least in Sweden, people dont really care of age and marriages around +40 its not unusual. I found it very interesting though. What do both men and women in Japan think about dating or marriage after 30? I mean, there are thousands of reasons for people to be single around 30 or older, work, divorce, havent found the right one yet, etc, etc. and 30 is not that old either xD He also told me that is normal in Japan to marry quite soon after they met, like a year after starting dating, which in my eyes seems like a mistake. Here, people who marries so soon are seen a bit crazy and everybody usually says "they wont last long". So it is also interesting to look about divorce in japan too and what people think about marring a divorced person, here nobody cares. I really hope you can either ask or answer if you already knows the question ^^ Thanks so much!!

Hi,
over here in the Netherlands there was some debate about an old TV show where the host pretends to be a Japanese reporter who speaks very poor English and does an awkward interview. Nobody cared about the show a few years ago, it was just considered funny, but now some people are saying it's racist and offensive to the Japanese people and cannot be made again. I wonder what the Japanese really think about it, somehow I suspect they would consider it funny as well.
Here's an example, the program is called "Ushi & van Dijk":

Yuta,
Hello,
I have a multi part question.
Why is there a large presence of Nigerian and Turkish criminal networks in Roppongi and Shinjuku ?
How do Japanese feel about them?
Why doesn't the Yakuza or Police stop them?
Sorry if this seems like a racist question, but anyone who has been to Roppongi and Shinjuku (and Osaka as well) knows that there is a dangerous Nigerian criminal organization which deals with trafficking women, and scamming passerbies, they also operate front clothing stores, and they seem to be partnered with a Turkish criminal organization which also has considerable street presence in Tokyo.
How do these kind of foreigners start a business in Japan (who is inviting and sponsoring them, and allowing them to work), and why does Japan tolerate
These foreign criminals? And why is it such a secret that nobody wants to talk about this issue?
I really hope you make a video regarding this topic because it's very important and doesn't receive enough attention. I feel like it's something Japanese, especially Tokyoites know about but want to sweep it under the rug and pretend this problem of foreign organized crime doesn't exist.
When I lived in Japan I rarely saw Japanese Mafia members, but I saw hundreds of Nigerian Mafia members in Tokyo who operate out of shady clubs. Thank you for your time, I hope you will be able to bring much needed attention to this issue.
Sat, Jan 13, 2018
By the way, I know there is also a Chinese and Korean Mafia which operates in Japan, but because they are culturally close to Japanese, it is understandable how they could easily blend in, and have working relations with Yakuza. What I don't understand are how completey foreign organized crime gangs which do not share cultural values or mentalities with Japanese or Yakuza are able to operate in Japan and why or how they came in the first place.

I use the app hellotalk and I have spoken to a few people from Japan, however the basic general question I wanted to pose is. What do Japanese people think of the various methods to learn Japanese Rosetta stone/haijapan etc.
Is there things they wish Foreigners would learn that is not covered in such classes/generic lessons.
For Example, I'm a natural born English speaker from England, I moved to America and I see the different variations of the English language and the basic lessons for English doesn't cover this or other slang terms. Such as the Londoner's cockney rhyming slang. If I asked someone to pick up that Dog and bone. There is a good chance they would be looking for a Inu and bone instead of a phone.
So to restate the question, is there anything that Japanese people want us to know about learning Japanese that is not covered/mentioned in classes/lessons?
Thu, Dec 21, 2017
Hi Yuta. I've seen your latest video and as usual it was an awesome topic. I'm just thinking, maybe you could show Japanese people a couple of non-Japanese shows on Japanese dub and compare it to the original versions and ask their opinion. I believe that this would be an interesting topic for your next video.
I've pick some videos on YouTube that you could use for this. Here's the following:

Hey Yuta, love your YouTube vids! I know it says "no more about where in Japan people like" and my question is a little different.
Basically I've never been to Japan (yet) but I am hoping to become an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher), which means that I'm not guaranteed to be placed in the area of my chosen preference on my ALT application.
I've had my sights set on Sendai, but can't find many videos on the cost of living, things to do etc. Would you be able to cover this?
If not then my alternative question would be
Have they had an ALT in their school/classes before? And if so what was their experience like? If they found it boring what would they want to make it more fun? And if it was fun what did they find fun about the lessons?
Thanks Yuta

Hi Yuta, this is my first time coming to this requesting interview site. There is something I'm always curious about Japan regarding their fitness. I heard there are few gym in Japan and most of them are small size. So it came to my question: Do Japanese people, specifically young adults currently enrolled in their university, goes to the gym and workout? And how often? Do they have any goals to change their body for the better?
Thank you for reading my request. In California, most of our university have gym and were apart of our tuition. We take advantage of what we paid for and go to the gym often. I was always interested in how Japanese college students opinion on workout.

Hi Yuta - I greatly enjoy your videos. Is it possible to provide Japanese subtitles (perhaps down one side) as well as English, for those learning Japanese but can't quite decipher everything that is said? There is an automatic voice to text subtitler, but it never seems to relate much to what I am hearing. Cheers ...

Hello Yuta, first of all I appreciate the work that you put into making your videos, they are very entertaining and full of knowledge. I've come to ask if you would do a video concerning the jobs available to foreigners. It seems as if the only jobs available are teaching jobs... what about the IT or Health industry? What percentage of foreigners work in fields other than Education? Reason being is i'm an Black American female studying Cybersecurity...with hopes of living in Japan.
Also, what is life like for foreigners that live in rural Japan... would they have a hard time living in and adjusting to those communities?
Thank you for you time Yuta, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Yuta I know it's been a while but the new Video game: Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch studio seems like a good "What do Japanese people think of" since it's a Western (American) Developer tackling the subject of the Mongul invasion of japan and how one Samurai is taking the fight to them in a unique way. I'd very much like to see especially if you can get some people who are read on the era and what they think of a western studio taking on such a subject.

It seems the ideas are not sorted. Is it true, that the ideas nearer the top are voted for more often? A similar rule works for search engines, where the first few results get more clicks. There should be a way to shuffle the ideas. :-P

That's why I removed the top ideas once in a while so that people can vote for other ones.
